Jio Phone First look,Specifications & Features,Price & Highlights..
The Jio Phone has been on everybody’s mind since it was announced. From over a million pre-bookings, the phone has garnered a lot of interest among tier 3 and tier 2 cities.
Now that its making its way to Jio stores and people are finally beginning to get their hands on the phones, we at The Quint were lucky to get a Jio Phone for a while. The phone comes bundled with a lot for exciting features like NFC (Near Field Communication) technology, bluetooth, and video calling.
It comes with a 2.4-inch QVGA display that performs well. For processing, it comes with a dual-core chipset coupled with 512MB RAM. What’s really impressive is that the phone comes with expandable memory on top of 4GB of internal storage.
The pre-booking of the phone started on 24 August and deliveries have started. To pre-book the phone you have to pay Rs 500 and at the time of delivery Rs 1,000 which can be refunded after 3 years (only if you return the phone).
We tried to stream music using the JioMusic app and it worked perfectly. We also tried JioCinema and JioTV, and found that streaming over 4G was pretty smooth. We were able to stream entire full-length movies. There’s a decent selection of choices, but the Jio Phone’s screen isn’t great for watching videos on because of its size and poor viewing angles.
